Our Ventura County Services

Child Support

We help the black community navigate the child support system through a referral process. This process restores faith of the black community in the child support platform and strengthens family values.

2

Probation

We help clients from the black community stay focused on their responsibilities as a probationer in hopes of getting off probation in a timely fashion due to good behavior.

3

Job Services

We help the black community navigate the job market in Ventura County and we help with resume building and review.

4

Court Appearance Support

We attend court with clients from the black community, listen to their case and try to help them with resources once outside the courtroom.

5

Young Adult Counseling

We provide counseling and guidance to students and parents. We try to provide a supportive platform for young black youth. We also are willing to fight the battles of students and families experencing racism in schools.

Youth
Conference

On Feb. 22nd, 2025 we launched our "Young & Gifted Youth Conference. Our youth conference was created to celebrate Black Excellence and to inspire our youth. Several people from the community, other organizations and youth joined us as we showcased powerful stories from young Black leaders. This event showcased pathways to success while connecting our community with valuable resources and support networks.

Our Work

On Feb. 16th, 2024 PROJECT50 was contacted by a concerned parent from Cam Heights elementary school in Camarillo, because racial and hateful speech was being used by white students during Black History Month and the concerned parent felt the school/district was not taking it seriously.

On March 7th, 2024 PROJECT50 and THE LBGTQ+ community brought this to the attention of the public and the district at a open to the public board meeting.

Although we were a key contributor on accountability and change through continued communication via email, attending meetings on implementation, attending meetings with black families, and other organizational platforms, the Pleasant Valley School District superintendent attempted to omit our involvement in her presentation to the board.

Our voice...Our work...Our support for black students will not be silenced by anyone! Click the envelope to open and read a presentation on our involvement.

Our Founder/Director, Dexter Nunnery was part of the Black Leadership Roundtable discussion on the Eaton Fire that devasted

the black community of Altadena.

Pacific Coast Business Times

In recognition of Black History Month, the Business Times is presenting our annual Black Leadership Roundtable, a Q&A discussion with a panel of regional leaders. Our focus for 2025 is on the Eaton Fire which devastated the historically Black community of Altadena, and its broader implications. Our discussion was conducted via email with Editor Henry Dubroff and the answers have been lightly edited. Here are our panelists:
